Update on Brian: he hurt his back at the beginning of last week. He tweaked it just wrong and was out of commission for an entire week. I had to keep hearing about how "I'm married to an old man" whatever :) Sadly because of this he missed his last day of work in the ER. But that's okay because it gave his back time to recover and he's doing much better. This Monday he started working in the CVICU (Cardiovascular intensive care unit). He will be in "training" for a while since he has to be trained and certified on all the different drips and machines they use in that department. During this time he is basically shadowing another CVICU nurse. So far he really likes it. It's night and day difference from working in the ER. He has really sick patients that he has to do a lot for..... but he only has one patient to worry about as apposed to having his butt worked off in the ER. So he is much less tired when he gets home from work :) Basically as soon as he is done with training he will be taking paternity leave.
Update on Wheezy: she has dug yet another hole under the fence and since Brian hurt his back he can't fix the holes at the moment (too much lifting and strain on his back muscles). So Wheezy has been stuck in the house which is not good. She has crapped in the house like 3 times! And it's not because we don't let her out.... it's because it was raining and she didn't want to get wet and go poop out in the rain. SERIOUSLY!!! You're a dog! Every time we come home we're like k so what did she do while we were gone? Last night was the worst. Yesterday Brian was at work so to do something during the day I started organizing the baby's clothes that we have and started deciding on what to pack in the diaper bag so we will have that ready to take to the hospital; "nesting" I guess. Brian calls me and was just going to run by after work and pick me up and take me to dinner because we were meeting his friends. Stupid me left the diaper bag and the stuff I'm going to put in it out. So when we got home the stuff was everywhere. I just started crying and walked out of the room. Brian cleaned it up and then came in to console me, to tell me that only 1 diaper was a tragic victim and that he was sorry his dog was a bitch. I have no idea how I'm going to have a dog and a baby. Just so everyone knows..... this is not a NORMAL dog. It's a wheezy. Seriously it's not because im a dog hatter or anything. SHE IS NOT YOUR NORMAL DOG. So today Brian is at work again.... and I let Wheezy out in the backyard to go pee.... well she went straight out that hole in the fence. Then I heard dog barking in the front yard. Yeah she charged some guy and his dog - didn't do anything but still! So I'm calling her to try to get her in the house and she just stood there in the street and almost got ran over. She finally came in.... where I said screw this your grounded. I put her in my laundry room and where she threw a temper tantrum and dirty clothes are all over the floor and the hamper was turned over and blocking the door. Ridiculous.
Update on me: I'm now 33 weeks prego. Activia is my best friend - it helps with digestion and heartburn! I also was given a prescription heartburn medication which is working nicely. Panera Bread is the food I alwasy always want. They have yummy brocoli cheddar soup in a sour dough bread bowl that is to die for. For everyone that does not live in Cali - Panera Bread is california's version of Paradise Bakery basically.

Ok I feel the same about my dog right now.. she is some what normal.. but for whatever reason I can not stand her! and I love dogs.. I dunno if it is because I have become some sort of germ freak now that I am prego but man..I can not handle the hair.. the slober or anything.. LOL .. but hope you have better luck with your dog..
Okay, so CVICU nurses are like the rock stars of nurses...I never want that much responsibility or have to know that much about drips and crap.
And, you are hillarious! My dog is a saint compared to yours! Sucks dude...
dj - it's the pregnancy i swear! my husband tries to understand but he doesn't really. like you said everything grosses me out: the drooling, slober, hair, scratching, licking and her smell!! oh my gosh sometimes I have to hold my breath when i walk by her! i recently bought like 3 wall bath and body works room deodorizers to try to dround out the dog smell. that is helping. lately she has started to "play" by laying in front of brian and my feet on the floor and then she'll twist and turn and put her paws on me and push. if you were at my house you would hear me say "don't touch me!" to the dog. like we're two 5 year olds fighting in a car.
I know Brian loves that dog, but man oh man....it would be dead or GONE if that was me! Sorry Dude!
You need to kennel train her! She is so cute! We kennel trained out boxer and she is awesome. If you do decide to get rid of her let me know. We might be able to "rescue" her!
