For those that are not family my Grandma's maiden name is Scott (and her bro's and sisters are my favorite great aunts/uncles...) and the Scott Easter Family Picnic is always the saturday before easter. We always get Easter bags with candy and stuff in them. I still get one because the rule is all UNMARRIED gradn kids gets one. HAHA! When i was a kid the family was a bit smaller (and the old folks were younger) and so we had this out in the middle of the desert and it was awesome! They would bb (k...i don't know how to spell that) trap candy, money and prizes. It was so cool! I grew up in California so I was only at one when I was a kid and we'd be sticking our hands in goffer and snake holes, cactus and all sorts of other places trying to find the hidden treasures. Safe - no. Fun - YES! Well since my gma and all her sibilings are all old farts now and the family is just way too big, they now have a breakfast picnic at a local park, give out bags, and the rest of the family judge people who lost/gained weight, and which grandkids brought new "friends" with them (aka suitors....). Which is why I'm going to be in Tucson this weekend. I'm smart :) BUT the Scott gathering of candy and stuffing bags always happens at my gma's house. This was last night. THERE WAS SO MUCH CANDY!! Since I was there I totally got to stuff my own bag with the candy i like (such as only the strawberry laughy taffy...banana is gross). My gpa gave me permission to make Brian one too! It was so much fun! Uncle Reid asked about my "friend" and told me I had to tell Brian that he is a very lucky man. Yes, yes he is. And my Uncle Eldrid (i think i'm spelling the right...?) was there! I have such a crush on him. He's about 85 and looks like the BFG!! So that's what I call him - the BFG. Last night he told me I have a big, pretty smile. hehe... I totally have a crush on him! I was telling Brian this and he was like hey hey now? what's this about?! LOL! Anyway, it was a lot of fun and I'm glad i was able to be there.
Here's a picture of some of the old farts in a row : ) he he. They all sat there while everyone else did the work.

The BFG! I love that book, and yes, he does look like him. Call me after you go to Tuscon. And tell Brian he is lucky to get an easter bag...I don't even get one!
How Fun!!! I'm jealous that I dont get an easter basket this year! :( Ps. If you want to send me your banana laffy taffy, I'd be ok with that. :) Have fun in Tuscon! I want reading material when you get back! :)
