Zach's 1yr birthday party

We had a little party for friends and family at a park here in Visalia.  I was so thankful for my mom and dad because I went crazy and I needed lots of help.  My mom basically made all the food and most of the cakes. And my dad very patiently dealt with me when I was ordering him around about the decorations that we had to hang.  It wasn't very fancy party.... so the hanging decorations were the one and only thing I wanted.... and my Dad executed it perfectly.  Thanks you so much guys!  We had finger foods: Chicken salad sandwiches, carrots, cauliflower, veggie dip, apples, strawberries, fruit dip, fishy crackers and cheeze-its.  We had lemonde to drink because that is Zachary's favorite thing on the planet. Pretty simple!  The cake was awesome.  One we just bought at Costco because that was one less cake we had to make.  It was good (I was surprised) it was chocolate chocolate chocolate.  Then my mom made a great lemon cake - which we made a tiny one for Zachary out of the same lemon cake.  He likes lemon.... and I figured since he was going to be eating a ton of it, lemon might be better on his system then chocolate chocolate.  And I made a from scratch German chocolate cake (the same one I made Brian for his bday).

His bday colors were yellow with pops of orange

The decorations that my dad hung up

nice face Zach :)   he was chowing down on the strawberries - one of his favorite things

It went well.  Zachary had a ton of fun.  Everyone played out on the park lawn with kites, balls, and bubbles (Brian was genius and bought that stuff at the last moment... I didn't even think about having fun stuff like that).  And he obviously liked his cake so all went well!!

And here are just a few of the many cake photos :)
I was bringing him his tray which I put the cake on

We ended up putting him in the sun because it was chilly in the shade and we needed more light for the video camera

Naomi just desperately wanted to help him and feed him the cake...... then he just took the fork and started using it which is totally bizarre because he has never used any utensils!

It was a layered cake... and he ended up eating almost all of it... just the bottom layer was left.  Crazy!!
