Zachary and I are visiting my family in Montana so they could spend some time with him. He is the only grandchild that lives far away so they don't get to see him often. Unfortunately Brian is back home working his butt off - sorry babe. Yesterday Zach all the sudden finally got how to clap on demand. He has done it every once in a while just because he figured out that he could put his hands together. But yesterday he finally figured out that if he claps then all of us (the trained monkeys) clap as well and say "YEAH!!" This is seriously all we did at the dinner table last night. He did it on demand today so I can officially say he can clap. He also all the sudden learned how to sit up on his own. I was chillin' with him on the floor this morning just watching him crawl (because he is crawling now.... did I tell you guys that? He started crawling last week) and then went from a crawl to sitting up on his butt. Then he clapped and smiled like yeah look what I did. I then made him repeat this while I got it on video for Brian to see.
My Mom, Kim, Brooklynne, Zachary and I all went to Target 2 days ago. It's my favorite store. We went because I needed something simple like wipes but we all came out of there with a whole hell of a lot more stuff then we thought we needed - the $100 dollar store strikes again! I taught my Mom how to shop the Target dollar bins. She had NEVER shopped the dollar bins. SERIOUSLY?!?! She was amazed by all the cool stuff and bought a ton of it. While we were there my Mom also got to see the world revolve around my son. Every single woman in that store stopped and talked to him. "Hi cutie! He is so cute. He is such a happy little boy. What a big smile!"...are some of the comments that are usually uttered during these times. Zach is such a charmer and totally a flirt. He will smile at anyone who will pay attention to him, which always makes him a hit in the register line. Who ever is behind us is his new best friend. My Mom had to come home and tell my Dad all about how all the ladies stopped and talked to him. I forget that kind of behavior because it happens all the time. He was a HUGE hit on the airplane to Montana. Everyone was trying to get him to smile and laugh. Most kids cry on planes.... mine played and flirted with people. I'll take it.
My Dad and Scott took Brooklynne and Zach into the backyard today for Grandpa's garden wagon time. Brooklynne lounged back on a pillow in the back and Zach sat up straight and smiled while my dad pulled them around in the wagon. Zach LOVED it, he was having so much fun. My Dad has also been reading to Zach. He will just sit back, relax and listen while my Dad rocks him and reads him a Roald Dahl book. I love it. Zach has fallen asleep on my Mom and Dad while they are back in their room rocking him so many times this week that I can't keep count. I'm so glad I ditched my husband for the week so my son could hang out with his Montana grandparents.
